Today is the Caristia, and it is also the day that I’ve arrived back from PantheaCon.
There is a great deal to talk about in relation to PantheaCon, and I hope to begin doing so tomorrow, probably with my own report of what went on gender inclusion/exclusion-wise in my own experience at the con’; from there, I’ll also do a few separate posts on the Ekklesía Antínoou-specific events of the con’–really extended summaries of each of the sessions–as well as one on some of the other sessions I attended or in which I participated. I’ll also be posting a praise poem that I’ve owed someone for a while, which I was able to write earlier today while waiting in the airport! (I know I owe a few other folks those as well…I shall get to them soon, if all goes well!)
Overall, I can say these things:
1) It was a pretty damned awesome week down there, from the moment I was picked up from the airport to the moment I was dropped off there again.
2) TONS of important spiritual work was accomplished.
3) Friendships, alliances, and personal connections between myself and various people were created, strengthened, re-established, and extended–and, as that’s what Caristia is for (even though back in the day it was for family rather than “chosen family”), I feel that the actions of the last week have been an honor to this occasion, and recognizing such today is the culmination of the events, therefore.
4) Every session I was involved with–solely presenting two, being a “guest” performer in one, and being a panelist in another–was extremely successful, useful in at least some fashion, and enjoyable.
5) I feel inspired to continue on in some of the work I had started before going down, and with any luck, I’ll have some updates in that regard for you in the near future as well.
There was very little sleep, and what sleep there was was not often very good, for the entirety of the last week however, and thus I’ll probably be attending further to those needs in a short while. (I did manage a short nap this afternoon after I arrived back before I had dinner.)
It was a gods-filled week, in which Antinous, Polydeukion, the Tetrad, Hathor, Dionysos, Nyx, and a number of others all played a major part; and I hope that everyone has the same sort of week wherever they happen to be, this week and for every week to follow!
Ave Ave Antinoe!
All hail, Lupus! I regret not seeing more of you, & I chose to leave early Monday morning since it seemed important. I’ll email you with more details of my Con experience. In the meantime, welcome home! Thanks so very much for being my guide during my first Pantheacon; you were really sweet.

Indeed, Duffi, I was sad to have only seen you last in the few hours before the Modern Dionysian Initiation on Saturday night, but I hope the rest of your experiences there were very good indeed! And, I’ll be interested in hearing your thoughts on that event in particular–I’ll be writing an entry specifically on it called “PantheaCon 2012: Losing One’s Head,” so look for that in the near future!
And, certainly, I’d love to continue speaking with you in e-mail whenever you like!
So wonderful to meet you, and I hope to do so again many times in the future!

Hey PSLV,
Glad you had a good time at P-Con. I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on “round two” of the gender related happenings.
For my part my surgery ended up needing to be pushed up but I am in one piece and already doing beginning stages of physical therapy.
That’s pretty much been my entire week really.
Oh that and new job and a move to a new apartment. Latter won’t happen til May though. Might push my schedule back for my personal projects or move things forward faster than expected. Stay tuned for art to blow you back on your tail fin as my godkids would say (they like Spongebob).
Also gonna be launching a Mediterranean inspired food blog w/ recipes for great, tasty, healthy dishes under $2 a serving (vegetarian/vegan friendly a lot of it). Gonna be video podcasts so you’ll get to see my smiling mug. Still in pre-production on that one so that’s down the line.
I’ve also been doing extensive communication work with my little cacophony of spirits. Interesting developments in that area to be sure. Fill you once you’ve rested up and decompressed a bit.
Again, glad everything was a smash. I will 99% for sure be there next year.
:D:D
Cheers,
Dave

Hey again Dave!
Indeed, I will probably tackle the gender-related matters first in my series of posts on PantheaCon. So, watch this space, and that will happen soon!
I’m glad to hear you’re already recovering well from your surgery. May that continue, and may physical therapy be very useful and productive for you as well!
I’ll look forward to hearing more about your spirits and the work you are doing for them, seeing your art, and your food blog, as well–I suck at almost all forms of cooking, but it’s mostly having been out of practice, and not having people to prepare food for (as the last time I made something elaborate for myself, it was a disaster and very depressing), that keeps me from spending more time in trying to improve my skills in that regard.
Looking forward to next year’s PantheaCon already, and to meeting you in person at it! That will be wonderful!

Ave! Pantheacon is always an inspiration for me, and this year I feel glad I am in a place where I can implement the changes better.

Yes–while some of the direct and useful inspiration didn’t come from the events of PantheaCon themselves, nonetheless it was an interesting laboratory in which to work with some of them, experiment with them, etc. I hope much more comes of some of those experiments in the near future…
And, re: some of that, I wonder–would you be able to send me Fox and/or Autumn’s e-mail addresses? I want to follow-up with them on a few things we spoke about, and I don’t have either of their e-mail addresses, so I’d like to have those (just in general, anyway!). I’m sad I only got to see them for that couple of hours on Saturday afternoon. But, good things even came of that: “37 of Imps Vs. Pimps” and “I’ll Stomp The World And Melt Your Shoes” were both pretty worthwhile, I think!

I have now sent the email with their contacts, and Fox at least knows that I have sent it.
Just landed in CT a few hours ago, and thinking that this is the first year in many in which I can actually PROCESS the con and vacation.

Awesome! Got it! Thanks very much! I shall follow-up with them soon…
I’m glad to hear you’re able to process all of this year’s PantheaCon experiences a bit more before having to go back into the full swing of things–two days this year wasn’t really enough from my viewpoint, personally, but it’s also been the first time (apart from when I was in Michigan) that I’ve been working during Feb., so that’s also not a bad thing either. The decompression period for the day and a half afterward (still in the Bay Area) was also very useful this year, so that was nice…
