Still further behind on certain projects than I’d prefer to be, alas…
So, I can’t even really say that this placeholder-esque entry is a “review” as such in terms of how I prefer to review things, but nonetheless, here we are–this may just suffice to draw your attention to an interesting resource.

There’s a journal that just came to my attention in the last year or so, which I’ve been able to examine a few volumes of (2 through 4; volume 1 is extremely expensive and hard-to-find), called Strange Attractor. It is published by Strange Attractor Press, and grew out of various events and such that the editors had slightly more than a decade ago. They also publish a variety of other books, some of which sound quite fascinating and appealing. They published Steve Moore’s book Somnium, which I read last year and enjoyed (and Antinous makes a very brief appearance in it!), and Steve Moore’s work appears in the various volumes of the Strange Attractor journal itself. In the latest issue of said journal, you can also see work by Alan Moore (yes, that Alan Moore!) and Phil Legard, who I mentioned the other day. They’ve also got a new journal that just started this year called Dreamflesh Journal, which looks quite interesting as well (with some work by Orryelle Defenestrate Bascule). And, they’ve got a variety of things relating to Austin Osman Spare, too–who is always a favorite amongst occultists and esotericists, so it seems.
I put in an inquiry about writing something for them a while back, but didn’t hear anything in return…I might try again in the coming months. Either Strange Attractor or Dreamflesh Journal would be interesting, I think, to have a piece in, and I have a few topics that I think might work in that regard…
So, if you browse the above links and it seems interesting to you, do go and have a look at the volumes themselves! It’s well worth it, I think!
