As I was lamenting mentioning in my post the other day, there aren’t that many reviews of the work I’ve written, and I wish that would change.
Well, apparently the wish-fulfillment deities heard and passed the message on! (Damn…I should have wished for money that day!)

Edward Butler just posted his review of my book, All-Soul, All-Body, All-Love, All-Power: A TransMythology! His review examines the platonic and neoplatonic philosophical dimensions of the work, as well as its implications for the number of gods in polytheism, the “need” for newer gods to deal with newer realities, and a variety of other fascinating dimensions of it that may not be apparent to the casual reader. It’s well worth a read! Thank you for that, Edward!
[As an aside, there's been one other published review of the book thus far: Rebecca Buchanan's in Eternal Haunted Summer last Spring, which you may want to check out as well if you haven't already.]
As said in my post a few days ago, please do let me know if you ever decide to review any of my books on public blogs or other fora–I’m always interested in reading what people think of them (for this is how we improve as writers!).
I just purchased Devotio Antinoo last night, but it’s going to the top of my reading list once it arrives and I’ll definitely be writing a review of it!
And I just wanted to let you know I’m very excited about getting and reading that book and, as I slowly get enough money to splurge, plan to get the rest of your books. Your writing is great and your prayers and poetry that you post here are just stunning.

Thanks very much indeed!
Devotio Antinoo is a doorstop, just so you know…I don’t know anyone who has it who has read all of it–or, at least, anyone who has read all of it and told me they did. I suspect most people will use it as a kind of reference book, and may dog-ear certain pages, but rarely if ever look at other parts of it unless they have to, and no one will ever have to, of course…But, that’s what one gets for writing something close to 500 pages!

Dog-ear pages?! Say it ain’t so! *librarian shudders* I do have to say, though, that I’ve probably read most of it, even the parts that aren’t particularly useful to me. That’s how, in fact, I knew they weren’t useful to me.

I know–as a “private librarian” and bibliophile, I likewise shudder.
The one copy of Devotio Antinoo that I’ve seen that was someone else’s copy was in “Shitty”-grade condition two days after the person in question bought it. I know it might not be the best to base my assumptions on that very-much-worst-case-scenario, but one does, and then is pleasantly surprised when it isn’t so!
And, I’m glad to hear you’ve read it, and not just dog-eared the hell out of it!
