Epistolae Britanniae

Still extremely busy, and thus I won’t have time for a lengthy analysis of the other day’s activities here, nor some of the other posts I had planned at present, alas…

However, via various other places, I do have the following note on Roman Britain.

The above is an altar recently found in Maryport, Cumbria, on the western end of Hadrian’s Wall, to Jupiter Optimus Maximus (often abbreviated as I.O.M.). You can read more about this find here.
