New “Queer I Stand”: The Indigeny Debate

And, a day earlier than expected (and less than 24 hours from when I finished writing it and sent it in!), the new “Queer I Stand” column I wrote at Patheos.com’s Pagan Portal is now up: “The Indigeny Debate.” Some of you may remember the 2010 World Parliament of Religions, and how indigenous religions were featured at it, and how some modern pagans tried to argue that our religions are indigenous. This article explores some of why I find that term to be problematic, or at least that it is applied in a problematic fashion, where modern pagan religions are concerned.

[And, it looks like someone--one of the non-Star Foster Patheos.com editors, no doubt--decided to edit some of my punctuation, so there are parts of it that don't sound at all right to me. Please excuse their need to fix things and make me sound more like an idiot than usual...]

Feel free to comment there or here, as you may prefer!

And thank you, Star, for getting it up there so fast, even despite all of the movements and matters you’ve had to deal with recently! You’re much appreciated!
