Gratias vobis Multis Deis ago hodie!

I’m hoping to get to the EBC write-up in the next few days, but it may not be until Friday…

But in the meantime, I have to just extend my public thanks and praises for all of my gods, but three in particular:

Antinous

Polydeukion

and Wepwawet

I have just had some fantastic news, which will make my life much easier starting in 2013, with something approaching a full-time job with benefits. It will be a bit of a slog in certain respects between now and then, but if all goes well, things will be looking up in P. Sufenas Virius Lupus-Land come January…

And, whether anyone else likes it and agrees with it or not, my firm belief is that it is all entirely due to my gods, and to the three mentioned here in particular.

So, thank you to everyone who has sent me good thoughts and wishes over the last two weeks; and to everyone who has supported my work through taking courses and buying books and in other ways giving me much-appreciated emotional support; and, most especially, THANKS TO YOU, ALL OF MY GODS, but Antinous, Polydeukion, and Wepwawet in particular! You are awesome gods simmered in awesome sauce, and I will never tire of turning my spoons to taste of your awesomeness whenever possible!

[That was the weirdest statement of praise ever...!?! ;) ]

  1. Congratulations! That’s excellent news!

  2. Congratulations! Bennies are always nice. Honor to Antinous, Polydeukion, and Wepwawet!

  3. *pops the champagne* Woo! :D

  4. I’m so happy for you! There are a whole bunch of conga rats doing a little dance, just for you. ;)

  5. This is great! Congratulations! Praise be to Antinous, Polydeukion, and Wepwawet!

  6. Yahoooo!

    • Indeed!

And, himself just arrived today–and he’s spectacular and beautiful! Though, I have to say, I thought he’d be bigger…but, he’s the same size of the Wepwawet I just got recently (in fact, even in jackal form on his snake-sled, the tops of his ears are at about face-level with Antinous!), which is fine! Much easier to find adequate shrine-space for him in this size than in 15″ tall or what have you…! ;)

I wonder, is he from the Hachette series that was done many years ago? He looks to be of similar workmanship and size to those figures…and they have a ton of obscure ones, which I’m hoping to get a few more of in the future…?

      • That’s exactly the set from which he hails. Good eye!

      • Fantastic! I had no idea they did one of him…and, I’d like to find a list of all the ones they’ve done, as I like what I’ve seen so far. I’ve got my eye on some further unusual ones: Anat, Astarte, Mandoulis, and Apedamak, for example.

They did little magazines with each one as well–so, I’d be interested to see what they had on Antinous, too! It’s a bit harder to get them, I suspect…there’s one guy on eBay at present selling those with the figures, and I hope to pick up a few when I get paid a month or so down the road.

      • I know if you dig around you can find such a list. Someone donated several of the very hard to find icons to the auction at the House of Netjer’s annual retreat last month. As I mentioned, the minute I saw Him there I knew I had to get Him for you. (And T said she was going to do the same if no one else did.)

I am hoping to get the Seshat someday. For myself right now, I have my Dad and Wadjet. That made for a happy jackal house here.

      • Looking around at some that are on sale on eBay, I’ve even found out about a number of gods I didn’t know existed, like Chai…who has now been showing up in my dreams, but I suspect more because I’m intrigued rather than because it’s an actual divine epiphany (though it could be both–who knows?). I need to find out more about that deity…

      • It’s kind of funny, too, that I’ve got Antinous and then this (by scale) immense Wepwawet jackal next to him sitting here next to the computer screen (until I re-organize my shrines tomorrow, most likely), and I just keep thinking “A boy-god and his jackal-god”…! ;)

      • sounds like the making of a story to me. ;)

  7. Congrats, you are certainly due for some good news!

  8. Congratulations! ^_^

  9. That’s terrific! I’m glad they were pulling for you, If you were Catholic you would now have to post a THANK YOU ST JUDE FOR FAVORS GRANTED message in a newspaper. Which might not be a bad discipline for polytheists come to think of it….

    • That’s kinda what he just did!

Congratulations, PSVL! Your praise might have been weird, but it was both creative and heartfelt! *g*

  10. oh, well done. I know from my own experience what a great relief that must be to finally secure a steady living. Such a wonderful thanksgiving to your Gods too!
