On this day, we celebrate the nymph and goddess,
wife of Ianus, lover of Jupiter,
Juturna of the clear and sweet springs.
We are silent about your actions,
for what you give is more valuable
than gold, silver, or even words of power.
Water, refreshing to drink,
cleansing and soothing in baths,
the relief of the laborer and the traveler…
You give this generously, O Juturna,
goddess of wells and beautiful fountains,
nymph without whom cities would fall.
I shall think of you, and praise you
in every drop of water I drink,
in every faucet I turn that pours forth.
